Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate! I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, filled with lots of food and family. Some highlights included:
Tea with family and friends at the lovely Lincoln Room,
Dinner in the company of extended family, enjoyed with many laughs and the warmth of a roaring fire,
The sheer magic of Christmas Eve, putting the kids to bed and knowing that tomorrow brings something special,
The unexplainable excitement of waking up to a tree decked with presents,
The wonderment of young faces, and the joy that Santa brings.
This morning, I enjoyed a breakfast of orange slices, a lemon lavender scone, and coffee in the beautiful new mug my sister got me!
I am very thankful this year for all the wonderful gifts I received, and for the amazing, generous, and loving people I was able to spend Christmas with. It’s not every year that you get to snap a picture of Kara running down the steps in such awe that she doesn’t even look human. And it’s not every year that you get to be fully present, immersed in the people, the relations, the love, the joy of giving. I really couldn’t have asked for a better gift to celebrate.
